DAVIS M. BETH, R.N. Ms. Davis was a fountain of compassion, an activist for social justice and a member of the local lesbian community. She passed away quietly on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Family Hospice Ctr. in Pgh. surrounded by close friends. Born in Erie, PA, she graduated Academy HS, received her BS in Nursing from Carlow Univ. and was a nurse at The Children's Institute and the Falk School. She had been retired. Beth was a longtime proponent of reproductive and women's rights and worked on early Lesbian & Gay Pride demonstrations. Her activism dates to the “good times at Shawn's Bar,” said a friend. She is survived by her father, Ronald; her siblings, Carol Kaiser (David) and Tim (AnneMarie) of Erie and Greg of Las Vegas; and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, MaryAnn. She is also survived by her beloved godson, Woody Shaffer-Carr; his parents, Viv and Frank; and many loving friends. As she wished for no formal funeral, a private remembrance will be held. Friends ask she be remembered with acts of kindness and compassion.
