CAPLAN IRVING D. A former resident of Rochester and Pittsburgh, PA died on October 11, 2015, in San Francisco, CA. Mr. Caplan grew up in Rochester and attended Geneva College where he graduated with a BSBA degree in 1954. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany from late 1954 through 1956. He received his MBA Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1962 and subsequently moved to Los Angeles, California where he was associated with the Missile and Space Division of the Douglas Aircraft Co. Later he became associated with the IBM Corporation in both Los Angeles and San Diego. After joining the Xerox Corporation in 1966, he served in a number of different management positions throughout the United States and London, England. In 1984, he joined World Savings in Oakland, California where he rose to the position of Group Senior Vice President. He retired from that firm in 1998. Survivors include two sisters, Lessa Caplan Finegold and Phyllis Caplan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and a niece, Ellen Bregman of Westport, Connecticut; and a nephew, Clifford Finegold of Pittsburgh.
