GASPERINI ALMA M. (STEFFENINO) Age 99, formerly of Iselin, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born on January 1, 1916, in Iselin, she was a daughter of the late Secondo and Celestina (Mastarone) Steffenino. Alma was a graduate of Elders-Ridge High School, and lived most of her life in Iselin. She and her husband owned and operated the Gasperini Grocery Store until their retirement in 1975. Alma was also a longtime election-day poll worker. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Kent, and its Christian Mothers. Alma was also a member of the Homemakers Club of Clarksburg. She had a kind and generous heart, and loved cooking for her family, especially for the holidays. In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Henry R. Gasperini in 2007; sisters, Lucy Tarasi, Edith DeRenzo; and brothers, Harry Gasperini, Sr., and Jack Gasperini. Survivors include her sons, Richard Dick (Mary Jo) Gasperini of Murrysville, James (Barbara) Gasperini of Harrison City; grandchildren, Bethany Gasperini of Pittsburgh, Brad (Jennifer) Gasperini of Raleigh, NC, Rich (Ali) Gasperini of Mt. Lebanon, Michael Gasperini of Pittsburgh; great- granddaughters, Marie and Clara; a sister, Anna Michelotti of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday, December 27, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 701 Salt Street, Saltsburg. Additional visitation on Monday in the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kent, from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with Father William Lechnar as celebrant.
