
EUSKAVECH JANET Janet (Nicewicz Kuczenski) Euskavech, 80, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on January 8, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburgh. Janet was predeceased by her husband, Theodore M. Kuczenski of Bristol, CT in 1980; her parents, Stanley and Mary (Rachel) Nicewicz of Broad Brook, CT; and her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Lucy Kuczynski of New Britain, CT. Also, her aunts and uncles, Ted, Eddie, John, Matthew, Frank and Helen, Charlie and Rose Rachel of Windsor Locks, CT, Francis and Eddie Zavaski of Rocky Hill, CT and Chester and Betty Nicewicz of Rockville, CT. Janet is survived by her husband, Anthony Euskavech of Pittsburgh, PA; and loving children, Michael and Jodie Kuczenski of Groton, CT, Bruce and Ivette Kuczenski of Southington, CT, Theodore Kuczenski of Bristol, CT, Tom and Carolyn Kuczenski of Madison, CT, stepdaughters and sons, Patricia Euskavech of Philadelphia, PA, Christine and Richard Purtell, Judith and John Maggio of Pittsburgh, PA. Janet is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Christopher, Katherine, Sarah, Kristen, Michael Karl, Karelyn Kuczenski, Kevin Tozier, Shauna Lee Purtell, Christopher and Gina Maggio; as well as great-grandchildren, Evan and Lucas Kuczenski; a brother, Ronald Nicewicz of Milton, VT; and aunt, Veronica Rachel of East Granby, CT. Janet was born in Rockville, CT in 1935. She graduated Valedictorian from Ellsworth Memorial High School in 1952, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music from the University of Connecticut Storrs in 1956. She retired from elementary school teaching in 1982. She taught kindergarten through second grade in Broad Brook, South Windsor and Bristol, CT. After moving to Pittsburgh in 1983, Janet was hired at the Wallace Memorial Nursery School. She was an organist and choir member at St. Gregory the Great in Bristol, a beloved piano teacher in Burlington and Bristol and a member of the South Hills Chorale in Pittsburgh. Janet volunteered much time to organizing, directing and participating in numerous community and charity musical productions, Cub and Boy Scouting activities and various church events. Janet loved gardening, cooking, baking, singing in choirs, playing the piano and writing. Janet will be missed dearly by many people. She was also an avid local Pittsburgh sports fan, and UConn Husky Basketball fan!
