KOSTRY ALBERTA BERT JEAN Age 93, of West Mifflin, passed away at home, on Sunday, January 10, 2016. She was born June 20, 1922, in West Mifflin to the late Charles Albert and Mayme Agnes Caldwell Gordon. Alberta was preceded in death in 1994, by her loving husband of 43 years, Joseph Kostry. She is survived by daughter, Marsha (Jay) Novak of Finleyville; granddaughter, Tiana (fiancé, Rick Genser) Novak of North Hills; nephew, Clyde (Judy) Hertzog; great-nephew, James (Jen) Hertzog; great-niece, Sheri George; great-great- niece, Carys; great-great- nephews, Sawyer and Koen. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Mary Hertzog; and brother, Earl Caldwell. Alberta was a 1940 graduate of Clairton High School, a 1944 graduate of California University of PA with a BS in education, a secretary at the Pentagon, Ford Motor Co. and Noble J. Dick Transportation. She was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Christian Servitors (serving on the banquet committee) and AARP. Alberta loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. Service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at noon, presided by Pastor Bob Titus.
