GALVIN ELEANOR ELLIE (HOMISON) Age 85, of Penn Hills, formerly of Lawrenceville, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen and Dolly; her daughter, Debbie; her sons-in-law, P. B. and Jack; and her grandson, Derek. On the day she went home, her husband, Robert J. Galvin, told his sweetheart, "Until we meet again, My Love." Together they shared 65 years of love and laughter. She was the daughter of Stephen and Anna Homison, both of whom were waiting for their daughter when she went home. Ellie had seven little sisters whom she loved dearly, Theresa, Dolly, Rita, Anna, Helen, Barb and Bernie. She will be truly missed and loved through wonderful memories by her eight children, Russ (Nancy), Lorrie (P. B.), Debbie (Jack), Steve, Dave (Robin), Kathy (Ken), Patti (Mike) and Tracie (Sean). Ellie hand-crocheted for each of her 16 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren a blanket which was her special gift to them. Those blankets are treasured heirlooms of the family. Ellie loved dancing to polkas, reading, saying her Rosary and of course crocheting. Ellie also had an adventurous side. In her late 60s, she went parasailing at 400 feet and said it was the closest she would come to flying. Then again, we were never meant to just survive; we were meant to soar with the wings of an angel. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at MAURICE L. KNEE, LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Rd., (across from S & T Bank) Plum, PA 15239. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10 a.m., St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Rd., Penn Hills, PA 15235. (Everyone please meet at the church.) Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, the Galvin Family suggests contributions to one of Ellie's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Light of Life Ministries.
