
BERGER C. WILLIAM Formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died in West Palm Beach, FL, at age 83, after a brief illness. Mr. Berger, a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School was one of the first ever accepted by Yale University and went on to rank first in his freshman class there. An outstanding student, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in his junior year and Class Poet at graduation. Both he and his late brother, Daniel M. Berger, attended Yale Law School and both served on the Yale Law Review, later becoming partners with their father, the late Morris M. Berger who established The Berger Law Firm in Pittsburgh in the late '50s. Later, William Berger moved to Florida and practiced law there. A devotee of flying for business and pleasure. As a member of Angel Flight, he flew sick patients otherwise unable to reach hospitals for life saving transplants and medical care. Mr. Berger leaves a former wife, Peg Berger of Pittsburgh; their two children, Jonathan Berger of Pittsburgh, Jennifer Berger Cohen, her husband, Attorney Jeff Cohen and their son, Alex of Voorhees, NJ; a sister-in-law, Carol Berger of Pittsburgh; his ex-wife, Doreen Berger of Boynton Beach, FL; two sisters, Diane Burman and Susan Jacobson, her husband, Dr. Gary Jacobson, all of Boston, MA. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held in Beth Shalom Cemetery in Pittsburgh at a later date. Donations may be made to the Morris M.
