SHAW LOUIS A. Age 69, of White Oak, died peacefully surrounded by his family, on Sunday, January 24, 2016. He was born in McKeesport on September 23, 1946, and was the son of the late Henry and Julia (Zak) Szalkiewicz. Lou was a retired letter carrier in White Oak for the United States Postal Service, McKeesport branch. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Air Force. He served his community as an active lifetime member of the Rainbow Volunteer Fire Department as well as his parish, Corpus Christi Church. He will be fondly remembered for his humor, selflessness and compassion. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eleanor (Leskanic) Shaw; daughters, Lori (Scott) Fitzgerald of Squirrel Hill and Jill (Christopher) Shipley of Ohio Twp. Lou was the proud and loving Pap Pap to grandsons, Drew Fitzgerald and Patrick and Michael Shipley. He is also survived by brothers, Joseph (Nicki) Shaw and Lenny Szalkiewicz; and sisters-in-law, Marianna Merten, Rita Miller, Ethel Stetz and Micky (Edwin) Janzef. Friends will be received at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Father Michael Maranowski officiating.
