CARNAHAN CAROLYN LOUISE Age 75, of Murrysville, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016. She was born October 8, 1940, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Charles Dewitt and Mary Louise Carnahan. A graduate of Franklin Area High School, she continued her education at Fairmont State University. She was employed as a clerk typist for 30 years by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, first in Greensburg and later in Pittsburgh. After retiring, she relocated from Pittsburgh to the Redstone Highlands Community in Murrysville. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees. Carolyn had a lifelong love of precision needlework and popular music. In earlier years, she also enjoyed travel, photography and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie. She is survived by her brother, Byron and his wife, Pat of Murrysville; her nephew, Scott; and niece, Rosalie of California; as well as two grandnephews and two grandnieces. Per her wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. The family will be available to share remembrances on Friday, January 29, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the HART FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3103 Lillian Avenue, Murrysville, PA 15668.
