
O'ROURKE CLARENCE "SHORTY" Age 88, of Moon Twp., a prominent Coraopolis Businessman passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. He was born in Coraopolis, Sept. 12, 1927, to the late Blanche Martin and Clarence D. O'Rourke, Sr. He was a resident of Moon Twp. since 1950 where he had built his own home. In 1951 he purchased the Esso station at the corner of Fifth and Ferree Sts. and retired from the family operated business on Jan. 1, 1987. There was never a problem he couldn't solve or a car he couldn't fix. In his past time Shorty enjoyed restoring and showing his many antique gas engines. He was also predeceased by his wife, Ruth M. Hitt on Nov. 25, 2008; a grandchild, Michelle; brother, Roy O'Rourke; and a sister, Lois Stewart. Shorty is survived by his children, Daniel (Diana) O'Rourke, Neville Island, Ruth Ann (Michael Clancy) Mixter, Shippingport and Susan (Robert) DiVito, Raccoon Twp.; four grandchildren, Daniel, Douglas, Jason and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Hope, Kristin, Aaron, Tyler, Cadence, Lexi, and Brandon; six great- great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Austin, Myla, Elise, Athena and Hunter; one sister, Janice (Jerry) Brough Ft. Myers, FL. Family will receive friends Monday 6-9 p.m. and Tues. 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the COPELAND CORAOPOLIS FUNERAL HOME, 867 Fifth Ave. where a service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by interment in Sewickley Cemetery.
