She was known as Aunt Honey to numerous nieces and nephews. Carrie was predeceased by siblings, Harry "Pete" Rorison, Anna Mae Heinrich, William "Rip" Rorison, Edward Rorison and Charlotte O'Mahony. Daughter of the late William George and Mayme Ashton Rorison, Carrie graduated from Schenley High School in 1947. She met her future husband, Joseph A. Marasco, Jr., while working with the local Methodist Youth Fellowship. They enjoyed time together at Jumonville, a United Methodist camp. She worked as a secretary at various businesses including PPG, Goodwill Industries and the American Institute for Research, and as a legal secretary for various law firms in Pittsburgh, enabling her husband to attend medical school, and in Philadelphia during his service in the Navy. Carrie was Joe's Sweetheart of Sigma Chi and enjoyed a lifelong friendship with the families of his fraternity brothers. After the children were born, she spent many years keeping a home worthy of a house tour, and lovingly raising her family. She volunteered for various organizations including Faith United Methodist Church in Fox Chapel and the Women's Auxiliaries of the Allegheny County Medical Society, St. Francis Hospital, and Pittsburgh Opera. Carrie loved music, particularly hymns, and had a lovely voice, which she lent to a number of choirs, weddings, and musical productions. Generous and giving, she was an avid gift-giver, always finding just the right item for each recipient. She was a great fan of the Pittsburgh Sports teams. The Marasco's purchased a home on Amelia Island, FL in 1983 and became full time residents in 2000. Soon after, they became actively involved with the ministry of the Amelia Plantation Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Faith United Methodist Church in Fox Chapel with Pastor Tom Parkinson, officiating. Burial will be private, prior to the service, in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. Family and friends are welcome to a reception following the service at Atria's on Freeport Road in Fox Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Faith United Methodist Church, 261 W. Chapel Ridge Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 or the Amelia Plantation Chapel, 36 Bowman Road, Amelia Island, FL 32034. Arrangements by JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC.
