MELANI NORA (BERNABEI) Of Cheswick, PA, peacefully passed away, February 6, 2016, at the age of 91, with her family by her side, at Harmar Village. Nora was born February 26, 1924, in Morgan, PA to the late Leo and Maria Corti Bernabei and was a lifelong resident of Indianola, Arnold and Cheswick, PA. She was employed by the PA Department of Transportation as a clerk typist working in Greentree and Tarentum after 42 years of service. Nora enjoyed going to Wheeling Casino with her husband, Rudy and friends on the Jack Tady Band bus each month to listen to the music of the Jack Tady Bears Band. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving is her husband, Rudy who was not only her 68 year love of her life but her loving caregiver. She also leaves behind her son, Dr. Kenneth (Tracy) Melani of Fox Chapel; and daughter, Janet (Charles) Kish of Cheswick. Nora is survived by her grandchildren, Christine (David) Racchini, Carrie (Simon) Pfister, Alyssa Melani and Sofia Melani; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo and Raymond Bernabei; and sisters, Lunda Furko, Evelyn Licata and Mary Kuczynski. A special thank you goes out to the wonderful in home caregivers, Marlene, Ed and Linda along with the compassionate care of Heritage Hospice, Dr. Peter Ellis and his staff and everyone at Harmar Village. A special thank you to her neighbors, Tom and Lori for allowing the use of their driveway many times each day to take Nora to her doctor's appointments. We thank the Lord for the woman God gave us, a caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In peace Mom you will forever be missed by all.
