NICKERSON JOSEPH PAUL Devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and humanitarian Joseph Paul Nickerson died February 27, 2016. Born June 25, 1947, in Kingston, PA, he moved to Pittsburgh and graduated from The Ivy School of Professional Art creating mixed media collages. A lifelong Democrat, he was a noted worker in his Shadyside polling districts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nan (Dundon) and Raymond Nickerson of Kingston. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Amy Joy Bertoncini; his daughter, Nell Nickerson Hartley, son-in-law, David and granddaughter, Zoey Grace; his brothers, Raymond Nickerson Jr., William Nickerson, and Robert (Linda) Nickerson. He is also survived by Elmer and Betty Bertoncini, Ron, Jamie and Jessie Penich, and Bill, Leann, and Katrina Thelin.
