
SEDA-RIVERA JULIO MAJOR, US ARMY (Ret.) Age 85, of Monroeville, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, with his family by his side. Loving husband of Patricia (Gira) Seda-Rivera; beloved "Poppy" to Patrick, Suzy, Steven, and Remy Pastierik; father of Maria Riley and Joe (Laura) Seda; grandfather of Shawn, Caroline, Steven, and Charlie; brother of Kiki, Carmen, Amalia, George and the late Delia Seda. Julio graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. He served in the Chemical Core Bomb Disposal Division of the Army from 1953 until 1973 during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was awarded a Bronze Star for Valor during Vietnam. He then became an Auditor for the Office of the VA Inspector General until he retired in 1993. Julio was a member of the Military Officers Association and the Military Order of World Wars where he served as the secretary/treasurer. Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE / PLUM CHAPEL), corner of (445) Beatty Rd. and 48 North, Monroeville, (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Parish, Monday, 10:30 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
