MOWRY GALE E. Gale E. Mowry, 96, of Pleasant Hills, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, in Delmont, PA. Born on September 17, 1918, in Pleasant Hills, PA. The son of the late Charles E. Mowry and Edith (Tompkins) Mowry. Preceded in death by his wife, Allene (Oskin) Mowry and eight brothers and sisters. Survived by five children: Joan Mowry, Barbara (Andy) Ogrodnik, Calvin (Nancy) Mowry, Mary (Mike) Zastempa, Ruth (George) Kereczman; eight grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; brother-in-law Bob (Audrey) Oskin; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. Gale had been a farmer with his father until the early 1950s, did work with home builders, and retired after 25 years with the Pleasant Hills Boro Sewage Treatment Plant. His passion was vegetable gardening - best sweet corn in the world! There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 310 Gill Hall Rd., Jefferson Hills. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Red Cross, or the Jefferson United Methodist Church.
