She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Magdelena Scalercio; and siblings, Joseph, Leo, John, Ralph and Sandra. Theresa loved fiercely and deeply. SR. ANTONIA CVETAN, CDP At the age of 97, of McCandless Township, looking forward to celebrating 80 years of religious life this summer, Sister Antonia, formerly Sister Brendan, went to her eternal reward on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Sr. Antonia was born in Point Marion, PA, and baptized at St. Joseph's Church in Braddock. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on August 30, 1939 and made Final Vows on August 10, 1946. Sister Antonia served as an Elementary teacher in schools of the Diocese of Pittsburgh for most of her career. She earned her Bachelor's degree in education from Duquesne University. After many years of teaching, Sister Antonia served on the administrative staff at the Provincial House when health permitted. Sister Antonia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Antonia Lagoy Cvetan and her only brother, John Joseph. She is survived by nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Viewing will take place at Providence Heights on Thursday, May 23, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will also take place on Friday, May 24, from noon until 3:30 p.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 p.m. in the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA. MICAH T. LEE Life began for Micah T. Lee on February 27, 1975. Micah was one of five children from the union of Norma Joan Bryant and Louis Michael Lee. Micah suddenly left this life on May 18, 2019. He will continue his peaceful journey with the Lord. Micah graduated from Cornell High School in 1994. After graduation, he attended Job Corps, where his passion and appreciation for cooking shined. Micah graduated June 23, 2000 from Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts School. Micah was a very talented chef. He worked at several establishments such as Downtown Hilton, The Porch, and McCormick and Schmick's. In 1997, Micah was diagnosed with cancer and during that time, he excepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at Stevens Childcare with then Minister Lisa Goldsmith. His love and faith were strengthened through this trial. Micah truly loved the Lord. He was a fighter. Micah beat cancer twice! Micah was very in tune with nature. He had such a fondness for animals and loved to watch nature channels such as The Animal Planet and Animal Kingdom. Micah was very quiet, mild-mannered, and had a sweet disposition. Although he struggled with addiction, he shared his experiences to help others overcome. Micah was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roalf Lee, Margaret Lee, Jon F. Bryant and Corrine Bryant. Micah leaves to cherish in his memory, four children, Mark Andrew Wilson, Abrielle Rendar, Sidney Micah Lee, and Sofia Melaine Lee; his mother, Norma Joan Bryant and father Louis Michael Lee; best friend, Annie Karabinos; siblings, Michael Jon Lee (Marsha), Louis Mark Lee, Gregory David Lee, and Melaine Danielle Lee. 12 nieces and nephews, Michael J. Lee, Matthew Lee, Marquila Lee, KeAira Lee, Jon Lee, Isaiah Lee, Cheyanne Lee, Major Lee, Louis Lee, Corrine Pasko, Lamiaya Fields, and Laila Pasko. DR. HAROLD ELIOT GORDON Age 104, of Ligonier, died Sunday, May 19, 2019, peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his devoted family and caregivers. He was born January 6, 1915 in New Britain, CT, one of seven children of the late Abraham and Jane Poriss Gordon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife of 45 years, Frances Hodge Gordon and two daughters, Rachel Jane Gordon and Frances A.H. Gordon. Dr. Gordon attended Yale University '36 where he was a proud member of the varsity 150 pound football team. Following college, he attended the University of London, St. Bartholomew's Hospital, where he was awarded a degree in Internal Medicine (1938). Following the war, his medical education continued at the University of Pittsburgh where he received a Doctor of Medicine (1949). He loved the challenge of education and later went on to earn a degree in Pathology. He moved to Ligonier in 1951 where he practiced medicine until 1985 when he retired at age 70. In addition to college, Dr. Gordon proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and remained active in the USNR until 1971, retiring as a Commander. During this time he was also an Assistant Professor of Naval Science and Tactics at Harvard University. Dr. Gordon was a member of the Rolling Rock Club and an active member of many associations and professional organizations where he continued to impart his knowledge and skill as an educator and scholar: the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners, Assistant Coroner, College of American Pathologists, Emeritus Fellow, the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Practitioners, Latrobe Society of Medicine, and the Byers-Tosh, American Legion #267. His hobbies included tennis and collecting first issue stamps. In addition he was an avid reader and successful equity investor. Dr. Gordon was a devoted family man and gained great pleasure in the company and activities of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always encouraging one to do one's best and taking pride in those achievements. In his later years, he took the time to enjoy the natural beauty of his surroundings, sharing it with family and friends. In addition, he cared deeply for his former patients, colleagues, and for the dedicated, compassionate, and loving caregivers who enabled him to remain in his home. His wisdom, dry wit, warmth, and empathy endeared him to his family and to all who knew him. He has touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed. He has set the bar! Dr. Gordon is survived by a son, Edwin H. (Susan) Gordon of Morristown, NJ; a daughter, Anne Earle of Weekapaug, RI and Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Cabot (Christina) Earle of Pittsburgh, Ashley (Andrew) Weiderman of Charlotte, NC, Edwin H. Gordon, Jr. (EJ) and Tekla Strom Gordon, both of Morristown, NJ: six great-grandchildren, Henry, Eliot, and Caroline Earle and Alexandra, William, and Emily Weiderman. Dr. Gordon was buried Tuesday beside his beloved wife at St. Michael's Cemetery in Rector. A service to celebrate Dr. Gordon's life will be held, Saturday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's of the Valley Church in Rector with the Rev. Dr. James Simons as celebrant. A reception will follow in the Smith Parish House. JEAN M. (MOODIE) ZALTMAN PICONE Of Regent Square, age 72, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 20, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 11, 1946. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Nora McCullagh Moodie, and her second husband, Leonard Picone, who also lost a battle with cancer. All of her life, Jean expressed a love of life and a love of her friends and family in all she did. She filled every moment of her life with a contagious enthusiasm and spirit. This spirit was present in her job as a social worker at Forbes Hospice and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital helping geriatric patients, to her many friends, and especially her family. Her passions in life were bridge, Scottish country dancing and travel. Left to honor Jean and remember her love are her two children by her first husband, Gerald (Ann) Zaltman, Jeffrey (Sinziana) Zaltman and Lindsay (Jennifer) Zaltman; her partner of thirteen years, August “Gus” Costanzo; two grandchildren: Samuel Zaltman and Lily Zaltman; her brother, Brian (Joyce) Moodie. Also survived by her second husband's family: John (Claudia) Molly, Jojo and Charlie Picone; Len (Tina) Picone; Lisa (Dean Brown), Michael, Katelyn and Evelyn Picone; Charlie (Natalie), Claire and Celeste Picone; Jeff (Cindy), Jordan and James Picone; and James (Michella) Picone. Lisetta was an exceptional athlete. She was inducted into the Carrick High School Hall of Fame for Basketball and Softball. After High School, she continued her education and athletic career at IUP, where she lettered in two sports. She spent 26 years working for Pittsburgh public school board, retiring as the chief of safety. Lisetta was diagnosed with brain cancer five years ago but continued to live life to the fullest. She is a true inspiration to her family and friends. Visitations Thursday and Friday 2-8 p.m. at the BORON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1719 Brownsville Road. Please meet in Holy Apostles Parish at St. Basil Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for her Mass of Christian Burial.
