RAY B. SUTHERLAND Age 59, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at his residence. Ray worked for Civil and Environmental Consultants Inc. in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his mother, Willa Sutherland; his wife of 35 years, Marcia Greenberg Sutherland; two children, Ray Matthew (Kayleigh Vetovich) Sutherland and Pamela Hoffman; sister, Kathy (Mitch) Masi; his in-laws, Sam and Beverly Greenberg; and two grandchildren. Family and friends will gather on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. STEPHEN M. SISKIND Age 82, of Canonsburg, PA formerly of Philadelphia and Downingtown, PA passed away peacefully on February 16, 2020. Born on December 28, 1937, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frances and Murray Siskind. He was the beloved husband of Carole F. McHugh Siskind; loving father of Adrienne Bern, Carrie (Ed) Enrietti and Michael Siskind; cherished grandfather of Carter Enrietti, Luke Enrietti, Natalie Enrietti, Lily Siskind and Olivia Siskind; dear brother of David (Dana) Siskind; brother-in-law of Sharon (Bob) Dunne and Jack McHugh; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Stephen obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Drexel University. He started his career as a software engineer at RCA Space Center and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2003. He had a passion for model trains, astronomy and the stock market. He also enjoyed reading, science and photography. Most of all he loved spending time with five grandchildren. Survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Louis P. Valicenti. Besides her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by sister, Carolyn (Jerry) Holtzer and Frank (Cathy) Barlow. BARRIE B. ADRIAN After a lengthy illness, Barrie B. Adrian, age 85, of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania arrived at the end of this life's journey on February 19, 2020. He fought the good fight and finished the race well “FEW” Barrie was born on June 8, 1934 in Kingston, Pennsylvania to Roy and Ruth Adrian. Barrie Married the love of his life Arlene (Hricko) Adrian on June 15, 1963 and they travelled extensively during the early years of their marriage. He was a Midshipmen Officer at the United States Merchant Marine Academy and was graduated in 1957 with a degree in Marine Engineering. For many years, he worked in the Maritime Division of Dravo Corporation and later was a successful financial advisor with AXA Advisors. He was active with the Cub Scouts, Indian Guides, Junior Achievement, United Way and the board of directors of the South Hills YMCA. Barrie was a passionate golfer, talented furniture maker, and an avid gardener (with a natural green thumb). He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and husband, and he cherished spending time with his family. Barrie was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruth Adrian, his older sister, Shirley (Reinsteine) and his older brother, Lt. Colonel Donn Adrian. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Arlene Adrian; sons, Shaun (Amy) and Christopher (Linda) and very special grandchildren, Emily and Connor Adrian. He is also survived by his younger sister, Mata (Adrian) Curran; nephews, Jon Reinstein, Frank Reinstein, Jr. and Patrick Curran; nieces, Donna Wildt, Christine Adrian, and Lynn Adrian. ELMER "AL" BODNAR Elmer Alex Bodnar, 91. Retired President of Intermet Foundries, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Donna Hubbard Bodnar and son, Michael Alex Bodnar and was preceded in death by his daughter, Florence Louise Bodnar. Al was born June 24, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph Bodnar and Julia Nagy Bodnar. He came to Lynchburg playing second base for the Lynchburg Cardinals in the Piedmont League, after Baseball he went to work in the pattern shop at Lynchburg Foundry. Al served on the Board of Directors of the Piedmont Club, Oakwood Country Club, and Central Virginia Community College Education Foundation. While at Intermet Foundries, Al also served as Director of the American Foundry Alumni Board, Director of the Cast Metals Institute, and Vice President of the American Foundry Society. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Church by Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. SCOTT ALDEN MILLHOUSE Age 65, of Mt. Lebanon, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Beloved husband of Cynthia M. (Mihalko) Millouse; son of Richard S. Millhouse and the late Arlene (Carnahan) Millhouse; loving father of Jack (Lauren) Millhouse, Steve (fianceé Elizabeth) Millhouse, Amanda (Rich) Rizzo, Brandon (Lauren) Dornish and Colin (Caitlin) Dornish; brother of Deana (Don) Guillard; grandfather of Liliana, Valentino, Sloane, Maeve, Thomas, Callahan, Peyton; niece Ella. Scott grew up in Erie and graduated from Erie McDowell where he played baseball, football, and was inducted into the athletic hall of fame. He then graduated from Cornell University, where he also played freshman baseball and was on the varsity football team. Following, he graduated from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He worked at Meyer, Darragh, Buckler, Bebenek and Eck where he later became an equity partner at the law firm and would have celebrated his 40th year. Scott found great joy in his work and treasured the people he worked with through the many years. He was an active member of the Allegheny Bar Association, past president of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, and was inducted into the Academy of Trial Lawyers for Allegheny County. When Scott was not in the courtroom, he was on the basketball court or coaching his sons' baseball teams. He was the president of the Mt. Lebanon Baseball Association and ran the ACBA Basketball League. Scott enjoyed playing golf, taking care of his lawn, and binge watching Blue Bloods with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and was always making jokes, so much so that he was referred to as the “punisher” for his notable puns. He will be greatly missed by his many colleagues, friends, and most especially his family. He was born on March 21, 1935 in Wilkinsburg, to Tony and Adele (Portante) Freto. Donald worked as a foreman for Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh and he was a member of their Foreman's Association. He enjoyed golf, classical music and he was an avid reader and Steelers fan. Donald is survived by his beloved spouse of 56 years, Laura (DiClaudio) Freto; children, Donna (Thomas) Ratzell, James (partner, Jennifer Woodward) Freto and Laurie (Damian) Vitale; grandchildren, Greg and Alec Ratzell, Matthew and Christopher Vitale. FRANK X. ROGEL Age 68, of Peters Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of Carol (Bost) Rogel for 45 years; loving father of Kimberly (Abdul Arajdel) Rogel and Megan (Eddie) Runco; caring brother of Margie Kolano, Joanie Francis, Rosemarie (Bill) Wessner, Tom (Ruth) Rogel, John (Susan) Rogel, and Valerie (John) Elliott. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Frank earned his Undergraduate Degree in mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University and his Graduate Degree in computer science from Purdue University. Frank was blessed with the gift to sing. He was a proud member of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh for over 30 years. He also sang with St. Johns Choir and St. Louise de Marillac Choir. Janet was born August 31, 1936, in Pittsburgh, to Ruth and Robert Kurowski and was raised in Etna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Sowden, in 2011. JOHN McSORLEY MIHM Age 83, on Monday, February 17, 2020, passed away peacefully. Born in Pittsburgh on July 6, 1936, John was preceded in death by his parents Ethel and Frank Mihm. He attended Gilmour Academy and was a graduate of Carnegie Tech. He started in the metals industry with US Steel in Braddock, PA before heading out on his own, founding and guiding Kincaid Manufacturing for over 55 years. In addition to his business acumen, John was a devoted golfer, accomplished skier, dog lover and skilled painter and sculptor. A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, he enjoyed spending the last 27 years in Boca Grande, Florida. He served on several boards, including the Mattress Factory, and was a long time member of the Pittsburgh Field Club, where he served as President. John was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Susan Stryker Mihm and his children Maureen McManus (Patrick) of Bedford NY, Frank Mihm (Katie) and J. CATHERINE ANN SKRTIC Catherine Ann Skrtic, age 70, of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, died Monday, February 17, 2020. She was born in McKeesport on February 8, 1950 and is the daughter of the late Paul G. and Caroline D'Annunzio Skrtic. Catherine graduated from Mon Valley High School in West Mifflin in 1969 and was employed for 20 years at the Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence, Kansas, until her retirement in 2012. She was a member of the Natural Ties student organization at the University of Kansas, a member of the THRIL Horseback Riding Club, and a member of St. Eugene Church of St. Mark Parish in Liberty Boro., Pennsylvania, and the former St. Joseph Church in Port Vue, Pennsylvania. Catherine is survived by her brother, Tom Skrtic of Lawrence, Kansas; aunt, Judy Kapuska of Brainerd, Minnesota; many cousins; and her many, many friends in Lawrence, Kansas, and around the country and the world. Friends will be received at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Eugene Church, 3210 Liberty Way, Liberty Boro., PA 15133.
