DEMETSKY PETER DESZO Of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2015, at Naples Community Hospital, after a brave battle with lung cancer. Loving husband of Kathleen (Cassie Kirk) Demetsky and proud father of Devin Peter Demetsky. Pete was born to the late Deszo and Elizabeth (Takacs) Demetsky and graduated from St. Wendelin in 1963, Pitt in 1967 and US Army Officer Candidate School in 1969. He was awarded the Bronze Star during the Vietnam War. Pete worked for 34 years in Sales and Marketing for both Ford and Lincoln, never missing a day of work. He was the brother of Michael (Johnnie) Demetsky; brother-in-law of Marty and Maureen Napolitano, Annette and Andrew Yurcisin, Denny and Elvira Kirk and Mary and Jeff Durgee. YOST AUDREY JEAN IRVIN Age 89, passed away peacefully after a long illness, in Erie, PA on December 17, 2015. She was born in 1926, on Arlington Avenue overlooking downtown and the South Side of Pittsburgh, PA. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Irvin and brothers, John, Jr. and Matthew. Audrey was a graduate of South Hills (Pittsburgh) High School, Class of 1944. A retiree, she had worked over the years for Dr. Eskey (Dentist), The Iron and Glass Bank Carson Street South Side, and the Consol Energy in the South Hills. She resided most of her life in Bethel Park, PA and was an avid dancer of the ball room style performing with many close friends in the Pittsburgh area. She is survived by son, William J. Yost of Franklin, TN; daughter, Janice E. Baumbach of Erie, PA; son, Mark Yost of Shelby County, Kentucky; grandson, Ian Yost (Cassie) of Louisville, KY; granddaughter, Katy Baumbach of Cleveland, OH; and great-grandchildren, Sam and Caroline Yost. Also surviving is her longtime friend, June Hullihan of Peters Township, PA. HOLMGREN Dr. WILLY ANN, Ph.D. Willy Ann passed peacefully on November 27, 2015, after a courageous battle with vasculitis. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 62 years John; daughters, Elizabeth and Ann; younger brother, William; son-in-law, Phil; and granddaughters, Christina and Julia. Willy Ann was a brilliant professor and educator who inspired all she met. Her leadership, selflessness and loving heart touched many. Willy Ann was born in New Rochelle, New York , daughter to the late Andrew and Francenia Erickson of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. She crisscrossed the United States while growing up and met her future husband while in Washington. She graduated at the University of Florida Summa Cum Laude, with Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honors and continued to pursue her master's. Willy Ann and John married in 1953 and moved to Albuquerque where she taught at the University of New Mexico. The couple then moved east and settled in Upper St. Clair in 1963 where she raised two daughters and pursued her Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh in Communications, graduating in 1974. Willy Ann loved teaching and her students loved her. She was a professor at Robert Morris University, where she introduced the well received Industrial Communications Program, expanding communications into graphic arts, public speaking, team collaboration and business. She continued bridging industry and education programs, helping to create and open the Robert Morris Center for Leadership. She was the Director until her retirement in 1997. Willy Ann was an active volunteer in the community, working with Upper St. Clair and Mt. Lebanon to help establish Cable TV programming to better serve both communities. She received the Certificate of Service from Upper St. Clair for her outstanding work on the Cable Television Committee. Willy Ann served as Judge of Elections in Upper St. Clair for 30 years and was a contributing member of the International Industrial Television Association and the D.A.R. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling with John to China, Africa and Europe and closer to home helping Elizabeth with her business, gardening and spending time with family. HIGHT FRED ARTHUR Born May 8, 1922, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He was a beautiful person who loved a good time, and who was always spreading joy with his remarkable sense of humor and compassion. He was married to Dorothy, his soul mate of 62 years (who passed away one year ago); survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Newberg, and Cynthia and Richard Zuppello; and three granddaughters, Taryn, Jessie and Alexis. Fred attended Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia, and went on to work as a tax accountant for many years. He retired from PPG Industries in 1984. He was active in Baldwin Community United Methodist Church and The Southern Club of Pittsburgh. Fred would not want any tears for his passing . . . instead, I'm sure there's a huge party in heaven to welcome him. GILBERT BRUCE HOWARD Born in Pittsburgh on July 2, 1925, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on December 10, 2015, at the age of 90. Bruce was the son of the late Joseph and Priscilla (Dinner) Gilbert. He was the beloved husband of the late Jane (Hantman) Gilbert, to whom he was married 57 years; cherished father of Susie (Mark) Tabor of Boca Raton, Florida; loving grandfather of Gregory Tabor of Boca Raton, Florida; brother of Herb (Carol) Gilbert of Delray Beach, Florida; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bruce attended Davis and Wightman Elementary Schools and Taylor Allderdice High School. After serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a radio operator in Scotland and England, Bruce returned to the University of Pittsburgh to complete his degree in the School of Business Administration. While at Pitt, he was a member of Phi Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He resumed his career with his father in the family furniture business, Gilbert's Fine Furniture on Smithfield Street, Downtown Pittsburgh, and began his 50-year devotion to the business. In December 1973, the store relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida. Bruce's lifelong love of sports included Sunday morning softball at Schenley Oval, basketball at the YMHA, golf and bowling. GREENBERGER SUE FIFE Age 64, was called home to the Lord, on November 24, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Anne Breinig and the late Jack Fife. She was the loving wife of Larry Greenberger for 43 years. Surviving are her daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Kiefer; and her son, Zachary Greenberger; and grandchildren, Alexandra and Jackson.
