PETRAITIS YVONNE (MARGHELLA) Y...
PETRAITIS YVONNE (MARGHELLA) Yvonne Marghella Petraitis, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 28, 2017 surrounded by friends and family after a long, brave battle with cancer. She endured much in order to see her children marry and to be there for the birth of her grandchildren, and now has found peace. She was 62 years young, daughter of Yvonne and Mario Marghella (deceased), wife of James Petraitis; mother to Lauren Stone (Jeff) , Katelyn Lancaster (Jerimiah), Jay Petraitis (Sophia); and grandmother to Nathan, Tyler and Aiden (Stone), Sienna (Lancaster), and Kaliopi (Petraitis). Yvonne was a beautiful and loving force of nature. She was not only the most incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend - but a true legend. She was a huge presence, and the party never started until Yvonne walked into the room. A perfect day for Yvonne was as unique as her personality. She would have spent it with a long peaceful yoga session, laughing with friends, dancing to Van Morrison, volunteering at Hillman Cancer Center with her furbaby, Oliver, walking on the beach with a great glass of wine, taking a quick trip to Italy and riding her vespa while eating gelato, and a snuggled up movie marathon with her hubs and grandchildren. There's so much to say and not enough words in the world to describe the uniqueness of her personality. A true testament to who she was was her diverse group of friends, whose names we cannot list because it would take ten more paragraphs, but you all know who you are, and how incredibly special you were to her. Above all, she spent every day letting her family know how absolutely special they were to her. She married the love of her life 31 years ago, and together they shared love and laughter with their children and grandchildren. We will miss you every second of every day our dear Vonnie - we love you as high as the sky and as deep as the sea. Friends and relatives are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 3, 2017, 10 a.m., St. Irenaeus Church, 387 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139 followed by a celebration of her life.
