O'MATZ LOUIS "BUD OF BETHEL P...
O'MATZ LOUIS "BUD Of Bethel Park, beloved husband and father, died on September 7, 2017, at age 80 of Leukemia, a shocking development for a man who survived a massive heart attack, aneurism, blocked carotid artery, and some strange arm rash. Like most who suddenly find themselves 80, but feel far younger and enjoy a thick head of hair with little gray, Bud was not eager to leave this world and his family was not ready to let him go. There were more fishing trips to go on and more bridge games to play and more days to spend at the beach in Florida and Virginia. But God had other plans. Now Bud is in the arms of the Lord along with his father, Louis, mother, Anne; brother, Raymond and sister, Lorraine Tiberio. Raised in Clairton when it was a thriving milltown, Bud played football for the Clairton Bears and graduated from Thiel College. He married Sally Green in 1961. They had three children, Megan, Mark, and Karen, whom he was enormously proud of in every way. Bud retired from OSHA in 2003, only to set up his office in the basement where he tended to his investments and enjoyed moments of peace and quiet. He was a loyal fan of the Clairton Bears, Bethel Park Blackhawks, Thiel Tomcats, Pirates, and the Steelers. He and Sally enjoyed a lively social life and many dear friends. To the end, Bud was an avid newspaper reader, an enthusiastic card player, and a good eater. He kept his cars polished and his yard looking terrific. He will be forever missed by his wife; children; their spouses, Chris O'Matz and Steve Sakowitz; and four grandchildren, David, Maria, and Paul O'Matz, and Sarah Sakowitz.
