SIEBERT CARA AMY APRIL 20, 197...
SIEBERT CARA AMY April 20, 1970 - July 22, 2018, our amazing Amy passed away after 19 months of facing a condition about which she never complained nor asked, why me,' surrounded by her loving husband, son, father, uncle, and dear friends. Amy was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, CA. and spent her formative years in Wisconsin, Israel, and State College, PA. After high school, she traveled to Israel to do volunteer work on Kibbutz Givat Brenner, where she met her future husband, Hemi Braunstein. The two of them reconnected when Hemi lived in New York, and they eventually decided to travel the world together. On a stopover in Israel they married and after a year they returned to the United States to pursue higher education, where Amy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Anthropology at Slippery Rock University. After graduation she worked in the Educational department of the The Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. A few years later they moved to the Squirrel Hill Neighborhood and began to pursue a lifelong dream of opening their own cafe. On December 12, 2005, ARTspace & Coffee opened its doors for the first time fulfilling that dream. What made this cafe special was the love reflected in a vegetarian menu which Amy provided on a daily basis. Together, Amy and Hemi operated ARTspace & Coffeehouse for 13 years, until they decided to sell with the desire to pursue other paths in life. Those plans were cut short by Amy's worsening condition. Amy is survived by her husband, Hemi Braunstein; son, Daniel Siebert Braunstein; father, Leonard Siebert; beloved dog, Zeus; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Together, they will mourn her loss, and celebrate her life. The family wishes to honor Amy with a memorial bench in Frick Park. Please make donations payable to Joyce Offerman, 300 S.
