COOK JOAN BARBARA Unexpectedly and peacefully, passed away at her home in Moon Twp., on July 3, 2015. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on Dec. 29, 1939, loving daughter to Adam and Johanna Streng; sister to Richard (Jalene) of Antigo, WI. Prior to marrying Bill Cook, Joan traveled much of the USA, including Hawaii. She worked for AMEX, where she spent time in London, France, Egypt, Italy and Switzerland. She lived in FL, MD, VA, and RI before settling in PA. Joan took great pride in her career of 30 years as Faculty Secretary for the Nursing Dept. at CCAC North Side. She earned her Associate's Degree while working full-time as a single mom raising her children! Joan passed away one year to the day after retiring. Joan is survived by her children, Michael (Tammy) and Michelle Everley (Christopher); and the grandchildren she adored, Austin and Samantha Cook and Corey and Sydney Everley; great-grandson, Jordan McHenry. Family was her passion and photos and artwork of her beloved family occupied every available space on every wall in every room! Nana attended events of all her grandchildren and it will be very hard on all of us to no longer have her kind words, her endless support and her unconditional love. Holiday breakfasts will never be same... Please join us as we celebrate her life on August 15, 2015, at "The Fez" in Hopewell Township from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice or take a page from Joan's book. Take your family out to dinner, love them a little more and raise a glass to Joan. Rest in Peace Nana, you will be forever missed. Arrangements by COPELAND'S. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
