MILLER MELVA B. Age 95, of Seneca Manor, Penn Hills, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. Melva was the eldest daughter of the late Oliver J. and May (Corbett) Brady. Melva was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Arch Miller, Jr. and her sisters, Lorayne Sulak and Bernice Reed. Loving mother of J. Brady (Laurel) Miller, of Wellington, FL, Maureen (Richard) Peroginelli, of Bradford, PA, and Denise (Bob) Humphrey, of Pittsburgh; grandmother of Eric (Jackie) Miller, Megan (Doug) Sypolt, Gina (Dennis) Ditzenberger, Michele (Jeff) Cox, Michael Humphrey, Emily Leonard, and David (Marie) Humphrey; great-grandmother of nine. Melva was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and Duffs Business School. Upon graduation, she worked at Mine Safety Appliances and P&LE until she became a full time homemaker. During this time, she was a member of the Gaywood Manor Garden Club, a volunteer at Meals on Wheels, St. Clair Hospital, and Mt. Lebanon Women's Club Trading Post. She was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, loved music, flower arranging, and room decorating. At the request of the family there will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be private with a Catholic Blessing Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Family Hospice, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243 or UPMC Benevolent Care Fund, 200 Lothrop Street, Forbes Tower, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
