HARVEY GILBERT TEXTER Just shy of 84 years young, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Boyers, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 21st. Harvey was born on May 10, 1936 in Venango County, the son of the late Harvey Franklin Texter and Zethina Rose Wilson Texter. Harvey was honored to have achieved the 32nd Degree of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite of New Castle and was a member of the Freemasons of the Grove City Masonic Lodge No. 603. He was a lifetime member of the Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department and the president of the organization when they added emergency medical services in the 1970s. Harvey was also an active member of St. Alphonsus and Epiphany Catholic Churches in Boyers, PA. Quite the athlete in his day, Harvey loved spending his time on the baseball diamond, even winning the 1955 Butler County Junior League Championship, one of his proudest moments. Most of all, Harvey loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports, dance and cheerleading. There wasn't an athletic field that Harvey didn't love to be at and there wasn't anyone cheering louder for the players than him! Surviving are his loving daughter, Judith (Alex) Zedreck-Gonzalez of Allison Park; two grandchildren, Courtney (Eric) Proie of Mars and Colin (Erin) Zedreck of New Castle; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Alexandra Proie; three great-granddogs, Mia and Milo Zedreck and Bruno Proie, along with his numerous furry friends at Berkley Creek Labradors; his sisters, Patsy (Mike) Greenert and Elaine (Dave) Shook, both of Eau Claire, PA; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was especially grateful for the messages and calls from his niece, Priscilla Simmons and nephews/godsons, Greg (Michelle) Fitzingo and Kirby (Courtney Burgoon) Fitzingo. Harvey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Frances (Tootsie) Fitzingo Texter, his sister, Roseanna Karenbauer and his brother, Eugene Texter. Harvey's family knows he was also met by showers of wet kisses from his many loyal dogs, led by his favorites- Fox Dog: King, Doberman: Apache, and Shih Tzu: Louie. Harvey's fun-loving and generous character is evident by the numerous lifelong friends and dear neighbors that he gathered throughout his years. IRENE B. (FEKETY) TATKO Of North Versailles, age 89, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. She was born April 18, 1931 in Munhall, PA. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Michael Fekety. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Joscak and Elizabeth Fall. Before her retirement, Irene was employed with the Federal Government for many years, before that, she worked in the cafeteria at St. Thomas High School in Braddock. She was also an award-winning afghan maker, always making them for family and friends throughout her life. Irene is survived by her children, Elaine Kowalski of North Huntingdon, Bob Tatko of North Versailles, Eileen Idele and her husband, Alfie of North Huntingdon, and James Tatko of Pittsburgh. Six grandchildren, David Andrascik, Kristee Kowalski, Tiffani Tatko, Nick Idele, Jesse Tatko, and Alyssa Idele. Three great-grandchildren, Max, Jaxon, and Jonah. BRENDA JOYCE CAVILL Age 71, of Moon Township passed away peacefully on April 21, 2020. Born in Elizabeth, PA, on January 17, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd Kibe and Marjorie Joll. Brenda belonged to the Lenape Nation. She enjoyed going to the Meadows to watch the horse racing as well as bird watching, especially eagles. KENNETH H. DEISS Age 77, of Connoquessing Twp., was taken into our Lord's arms as he passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. Born June 23, 1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William F. Deiss and Ruth Powell Deiss. Ken was raised in West View and graduated from North Hills High School and served shortly after in the Army National Guard. His family was raised in Ross Twp. and had a strong attachment to these communities. He was a lifelong member of FAPC, Ross Twp. serving as an Elder for decades. From childhood, railroads were a passion that grew from traversing the US and Canada with his dad. He continued these journeys through adulthood riding the rails at countless scenic railroads throughout the US and vacationing using Amtrak. When not riding the rails he collected all the model trains he loved, particularly NYC. He loved camping and traveled in his RV often making no plans and going where the wind carried him. In retirement he picked up and moved to a small farm in Butler County recreating summers spent on the family dairy farm in Cranberry Twp. He was often seen out on his tractors loving the country life. He continued serving the Lord at TPCP singing in the choir. Ken loved God, Country, family and friends unwaveringly with strength, tons of humor, and generosity. His light is sorely missed by all who knew him and will continue to shine by those that he loved. Ken leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Kristine Pettersen Deiss, who he married on July 11, 1998; his children, Deborah (Patrick) Riley of Pittsburgh, Bryan (Lindsay) Monheim of Cranberry Twp., and Michelle Longanecker of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Abigail, Shane, and Dylan Riely, Robert Longanecker, and Bryce, Brody, and Brock Monheim; his sister, Joanne (James) Miltenberger of Shaler Twp.; and many nieces and nephews. GABRIELLA RUTH SCHUBERT Beautiful baby girl Gabriella Ruth Schubert died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, April 20, 2020, while in the NICU at UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital. She is survived by her loving parents, Joel Schubert and Julia Santucci; grandparents, Rocco and Teresa Santucci and Randy and Carol Schubert; great-grandmother, Erma Barnett; Aunt Amy and Uncle Don Woelke, and Uncle Mike and Aunt Sandy Santucci. She will always be loved and remembered by her cousins, Rachel, Jenna, Meadow, and Daphne. Gabriella Ruth was born on April 7, 2020. She came into our lives eleven weeks early and weighed only 1 pound and 11 ounces, but she was feisty for her size and had a strong grip around mommy's and daddy's fingers. During her short life, she had an enormous impact on her family as well as those who cared for her at the hospital. She was born April 13, 1953, in Pittsburgh, to the late Margaret (White) Stevenson and Robert C. Stevenson. She was a 1971 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Forward Township. She was also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Jean was predeceased by her parents and by her sister, M. Ruth Stevenson, of Grants Pass, OR. She is survived by her son, Phillip Yu and wife, Jessie, granddaughter, Sonja, grandson, Daniel; and by her son, Christopher Yu. Jean is also survived by her sister, Betty (Stevenson) Cunningham, of Seminole, FL. She leaves her longtime friend, John Caracci, of Bethel Park. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean raised her two boys in Baldwin. Having a passion for antiques and collectibles, she opened her business called "The Crossings" in Finleyville, PA, and later in New Eagle, PA. Her last years, she lived in Bethel Park, and worked as an associate at The Home Depot. She loved the mountains, the beach and trips to see her grandchildren. KEITH KIRKWOOD BUCK Age 87, of Kittanning, passed away on April 23, 2020 at his home. He was born November 6, 1932, in Kittanning to the late Orrie W. and Ruth (Kirkwood) Buck and lived in the area all of his life. Keith was a physician. He graduated from Kittanning High School, class of 1951, University of Pittsburgh, BS in Biology, 1955, and University of Pittsburgh, Dr. of Medicine, 1959. Upon graduation from medical school, he did his internship at Allegheny Valley Hospital from July 1, 1959 to July 1, 1960. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1963 as a Captain at Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas. He then returned to Kittanning where he opened a family practice from March 1963 to December 2004. Upon his retirement in 2004, Keith was honored to have the Labor & Delivery Suite at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital renamed as the Keith K. Buck Birthing Center, having delivered 9,163 babies in his 41 years of service to the community. He belonged to Grace Presbyterian Church. His memberships included AMA, PMS, ACMS, American Academy of Family Practice, Masonic Lodge 805, and he was a recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honor. Keith enjoyed spending time with his family. Left behind to cherish his memory includes his wife, Sally, who he married on June 16, 1956; children, Holly Visnesky and husband, John, of Pittsburgh, Richard Chip' Buck and wife, Stephanie, of Morgantown, WV, and Beth Satterfield and husband, David, of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Morgan and Benjamin Visnesky, Zachary, Matthew (wife, Elizabeth), and Emily Buck, and Keith and Allie Satterfield; and one brother, Richard Buck. JEROME S. DAVIS On April 23 in Weston, Florida, Jerome S. Davis passed away in his sleep, at his home with his devoted caretaker, Latoya Graham by his side. Jerry Davis lived a very full life and was just seven weeks from his 100th birthday. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Shirlee Stevenson Davis who passed away in 2014. Both Jerry and Shirlee were preceded in death by their oldest son, Alan Jay Davis. Jerry is survived by his three sons, Mark, Richard, and Howard, and their wives, Marie, Linda and Jean respectively, and by Alan's wife, Melissa. The entire Davis family now includes Jerry and Shirlee's longtime caregiver and companion, Latoya, her husband, Banko, and daughter, Taila. Thanks also to caregivers, Maxine, Rhonda and Verane who were by Jerry's side for years as well. Jerry had a big smile, and often greeted those he hadn't seen or talked to with a very friendly How ya doin something that was noted in his high school yearbook, and which he kept up well into his 90s. Jerry and Shirlee loved nothing more than being with their four boys and their growing families. Jerry was Grandpa to 19 grandchildren from across the country: Meagan and Jimmy Kantor, Adam and Hali Davis, Shannon and Brad Wurthman, Rachel and Nazim Arda, Lisa and Rory Falconer, Sarah and Jonathan Michaels, Emily Davis, Brad Davis, Joel and Laila Davis, Brian and Alaina Davis and Alec Davis, and great-grandchildren: James Alan Kantor, Owen Jay Wurthman, Eliana and Eren Arda, Rowan and Reese Falconer, Lillian Michaels, and Isaac and Amaiya Davis. Jerry and his three sisters grew up in Oakland. Sylvia of Pittsburgh, Ruth of Port Chester, NY and Ethel of Long Island, NY all preceded him in death as did their husbands. He was also preceded in death by 14 sisters and brothers-in-law of Shirlee's Stevenson family, all of Pittsburgh. Jerry was uncle to more than 25 nieces and nephews who send their love from around the world. Since the mid 1940s until 1985, Jerry was a CPA for clients, friends, and family members across the entire Pittsburgh area. He was also the CPA for NBA Hall of Famer Connie Hawkins and MLB Hall of Famer Willie Stargell. His firm became Davis, Davis & Associates when son Howard joined the firm in the 1980s, and now has grown with Howard's son, Joel, and other accountants. Jerry attended Schenley High School and the University of Pittsburgh, the first in his family to graduate from college. He was a very hard worker throughout his 40+ years as an accountant. Jerry and Shirlee and the four sons lived in Squirrel Hill and Churchill. Jerry and Shirlee were snow birds Pittsburgh in the summer, Bonaventure/Weston the rest of the year, until they moved full time to Weston in the early 2000s. After retirement Jerry had four passions his family, his Jewish faith, golfing with friends in Pittsburgh and Florida, and watching his favorite sports teams. They were devoted congregants of Beth Shalom in Pittsburgh where they were also married in 1943, and later at B'Nai Aviv in Weston where Jerry and Shirlee unfailingly attended services every Friday night and Saturday morning. Jerry was an avid sports fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Miami Heat. He walked to Pirates games at Forbes Field as a young boy - and decades later attended the 1960 World Series final 7th game and saw Bill Mazeroski's series winning home run. Jerry was a long time Steelers ticket holder and saw the famous Franco Harris Immaculate Reception as well as a Steelers Super Bowl win among other big victories with Shirlee and his sons.
