LUCILLE E. WISNER WIENAND Age 98, of McCandless and Vero Beach, FL, on Saturday, April 25, 2020. Born August 28, 1921 to the late James Wade and Elida Flygar Wisner. Beloved wife of the late Jerome F. Wienand; loving mother of Jeffrey James (Cynthia) Wienand and the late Thomas Wade Wienand; sister of the late James Russell Wisner and Lloyd Wisner; cherished grandmother of Matthew, Justin, Jeffrey, Jessica, Brendan and Ned. Also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, Paige, Austin, Logan, Bobbie, Elliot, Nicholas, Sara, Madelyn, Meredith, Isabella, and Amelia. Lucille enjoyed playing Bridge and organizing Bridge clubs in her Florida community and was a longtime Avon sales rep and manager. Former wife of the late John J Kohl Sr., Barbara is survived by John J Kohl Jr (Dorothy Camus) and Diana Cravotta (John); her cherished grandchildren, Michael and Renee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara was a very caring person and loved being surrounded by people, especially her family. WILLIAM PAUL GERA Of Greentree died on April 22nd at the age of 84. Bill is the son of the late William Gera and Margaret Korpan Gera. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Arlene (Urban) Gera, beloved son, Christopher Gera (Kathleen); grandchildren, Matthew (Allisson), Joshua (Mariah), Rachel, Samuel and Hannah. Bill was born in McKees Rocks, graduated from McKees Rocks High School and Indiana State Teachers College (Indiana, PA). He served in the US Army as a Signal Corp Cryptographer. He was employed by Sweet and Sons Insurance Agency as Office Manager and a Commercial Underwriter from 1960 until his retirement in 2002. He was Commissioner of Greentree Athletic Association from 1974 - 1975. His love of sports and children led him to coach baseball in Greentree. Bill was an avid golfer and Pittsburgh Sports fan, especially the Steelers. He was a joy to cook for and loved homemade desserts. He loved traveling with his wife and time spent wintering in Hilton Head. He was a fierce friend and a gentle soul who will be missed by many. Heaven has gained an angel, Mr. Bill. PAULINE CICOTELLO Age 98, of Trafford, passed in peace on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon. She was born on April 8, 1922, in Pitcairn, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Mignogna) Tiberio. In January 1947, she married the love of her life, the late Samuel Cicotello, and together they lived and raised four children in Trafford, PA. Pauline was a very hard worker and never sat still. Her children lovingly referred to her as the Energizer bunny. After raising four children, she worked part time as a cook at Trafford Middle School. When she retired, she did extensive volunteer work with St. Regis Church. She was a member of the Altar Rosary and Mary Martha Societies, and was one of the original founders of the church's sleeping bag project for the homeless. She was also a long-time volunteer cook with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Cheryl) of Warrenton, VA; Mark (Sandra) of Broomfield, CO; two daughters, Christine (Maria Juarez) of Asheville, NC; Suzanne (Lou) Taleff of North Huntingdon; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Sue Schaab of Monroeville; a brother, Anthony Tiberio of North Huntingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; a brother, James Tiberio; a sister, Flora Marschik; and her parents. Unfortunately, due to the current health restrictions due to the pandemic, there will be no viewing or public funeral at this time. The family does plan to hold a public memorial in honor of Pauline and to celebrate her life at a later date. The JOHN M. BONNIE S. KORTYNA Age 85, of Wilkins Twp., passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Kortyna; father of Ralph Kortyna and his wife, Cindy, Andrew Kortyna (Katalin Fabian), and David Kortyna and his wife, Melissa; proud grandmother of Cullen, Claire, Brighid, and Fiona Kortyna; sister of the late Bud (Ernest) Shontz, Norman Shontz, the late Susan (Lynch) Shontz and Gayle (Anderson) Shontz. As the oldest of five, she had many duties on her Daddy's farm until a young Air Force Officer swept her off her feet. Many moves later, they settled down in Pittsburgh where she raised her children. After her youngest flew the nest, she went back to school and earned her undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. She spent the majority of her career as an IT Asset Manger at Sensus Metering Systems. After retirement, she continued to travel around the world with her husband Ralph. Her pastimes included estate sales and knitting. She adored her grandchildren and would brag to anyone willing to listen. She also loved her five cats that her dear husband adopted. JULIA (AGOSTINELLA) PELINO Julia (Agostinella) Pelino, age 93, passed away at the Caring Heights Nursing Home on April 23, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Raffaele Ralph and Anna (Mariani) Agostinelli; wife of the late Crescenzo Pelino. Julia is survived by her son, Joseph (Mary Lynn) Pelino; sister-in-law, Shirley (Thropp) Polacek, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Mary Pelino; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph (Josephine) Agostinelli, Michael (Olimpia) Agostinella, Charles Agostinella, Quido Gus (Rose) Agostinelli, John Albert Agostinella; and sister, Mary (Frank) Sylvester. Julia was a life long resident of Coraopolis and a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and St. Anthony. She was known for her cooking and baking and was always ready to help her family and friends. WILLIAM R. HUDDLESTON Age 95, a lifelong resident of Shaler Township, passed on Friday, April 24, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Lois L. Huddleston; loving father of Susan (Jim) Fisher, Tom (Janet) Huddleston, and the late William R. (Surviving Ellen) Huddleston, Jr.; dear grandfather of Erin (Kevin) Hollenbaugh, Lindsay (Josh) Zimmer, Emily (Jason) Seltzer, Craig (Katie) Fisher, Amy (Dave) Casale, William (Lauren) Huddleston, Andrew and Grant Huddleston; dear great-pap of Luke and Becca Hollenbaugh, Avery and Sadie Seltzer, Ella, Lilliana, and Hudson Zimmer, Colette Fisher and Conrad Casale; brother of Donald Huddleston. William served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and returned to Grove City College to complete a business degree. He enjoyed family gatherings, golfing, and cheering on the Pittsburgh sports teams while spending many of his retirement winters in Florida. William was a devout member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lodge #45 F & AM, Scottish Rite, and the Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh. LOUISE ELIZABETH (CURRY) TOWER Age 97, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at home with her daughter, Ellouise, by her side. Louise was born on June 15, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Carl and Louse Jones Curry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elwood "Woody" Tower and one granddaughter, Krista Renee Tower-Bailey. Louise attended the City of Pittsburgh schools, graduating from Taylor Alderdice High School. She went on to study art at Carnegie Institute under Joseph C. Fitzpatrick. She was also a Floral arranger, designing the flower arrangements for many weddings and other special occasions over the years. Louise loved to travel. She and Woody went to Europe and the British Isles. They took Caribbean Cruises and traveled in Canada. They made many friends on these trips and one year they swapped houses with English friends for several months. After Woody passed away, Louise continued her travels with daughter, Ellouise. Trips to Ireland and to the Holy Land; and a ride on the Orient Express were highlights during this period of travel. Louise loved the church and was active throughout her life. Louise and Woody raised their family in Coraopolis, PA and were active members of The United Methodist Church in that community. After the children were raised, Woody wanted to move back to the church of his youth and Louise and Elwood became members of Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Pittsburgh. They maintained their affiliation with the Episcopal Church, while living in Florida and finally in Spartanburg, where they became members of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. They were always part of the choirs and both served in a variety of capacities. Survivors include her son, David Tower and wife, Barbara; her daughter, Ellouise Tower; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; nephews, Jack Stevenson and husband, Rob Bridges; R. Craig Tower and wife, Maureen; her half-brother, Rick Curry; and her half-sister, Carla Albright. A private service will be held in the Saint Matthew Memorial Garden, with Father Rob Brown and Father Paul Abernathy officiating. SISTER MARY CLARENCE BORKOSKI On Monday, April 20, a member of the Felician Sisters of Moon Township, for 64 years at the age of 83. Sister was born in Ramsay, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Parkinson) and Walter Borkoski. Her ministry to the Church was primarily in the field of elementary education where she was a teacher for 48 ministering the following dioceses: Altoona-Johnstown, Erie, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh, all in Pennsylvania; Cleveland and Steubenville, in Ohio. In her semi-retired years, Sister Mary Clarence still sought ministries that took her back to Education. She became co-director of St. Philip Outreach Center in South Carolina, taught in the Kingstree After-school Program there, and also spent more than eight years as a tutor in the Mooncrest After-school Program in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Sister Mary Clarence was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Arthur and is survived by her sisters: Gloria Batya, Darlene Griswold, Orchlene Quarles, Esterine Tomer, Angela Sellers, all of Ohio; brothers: Walter Borkoski, Everest Borkoski, John Borkoski, of Ohio; Carole Maratina of Tennesee, Mark Borkoski of Florida, Eleanor Sebastian of South Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Sister Mary Clarence leaves behind approximately 1200 Felician Sisters worldwide. Burial will be private and a Memorial Mass will be offered at a later date. BETTY JEAN FABER Betty Jean Faber, 89, of Ponte Vedra, FL, formerly of Bethel Park, Baldwin and Mt. Oliver went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 17, 2020. Betty was born in Portsmouth, OH and moved to Pittsburgh shortly thereafter. She was preceded in death by her father, John Hughes, mother, Mabel Rees Hughes and her brothers, Russell Murray and John Hughes. Loving wife to the late Ernest “Ernie” Faber; loving mother of David Faber, Diane (Steve) Lehotsky and Kim (Mike) Browne; proud grandmother of Nicholas (Nicole) Browne, Amie (Jarad) Loos, Stephen Lehotsky, Michele (Jeremy) McCombs, and Melissa (Kevin) Anderson; adoring great-grandmother to Noah and Natalia Browne, Camden and Brooklyn Loos, Kynadi Lehotsky, Dagan, Landon and Cade McCombs, Madelyn and Mason Anderson and also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. JAMES L. DILLON Of Franklin Park, went home to His Lord on Friday, April 24, 2020, at the age of 86. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (Meneice) (Clark) Dillon, daughter, Amy (Bruce) Aldrich; grandchildren, Hailey (19) and Dillon (17) Aldrich, sisters, Judith (Dillon) Pintirsch and Joann (Dillon) Spicer, and many nieces and nephews. James was a 1952 graduate of Oliver High School. He received a swimming scholarship to the University of Wyoming, where he became the captain of the swim team, and graduated in 1956. He then graduated from D.T. Watson School of Physical Therapy, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1957 and later went on to start the Physical Therapy Dept. at Suburban General, where he was born. James was the third private practice physical therapist in the state of Pennsylvania, and mentored many professionals who followed him. He was the past President of the North Boroughs Rotary Club. James served for two years as a medical officer in the U.S Army. In 1956 he married his first love, Mary Virginia (Ginny) (Clydesdale). She passed in September of 1999. He is also predeceased by his father and mother, James Leo Dillon, Sr. and Marie (Reilly) Dillon, as well as his brother, Thomas J. Dillon. In 2003, James and Judy married and blended a wonderful new family. He is also survived by his step-children Frank Clark, Chris Clark, Kathleen (Robert) Vaupel, James (Nicole) Clark, and Matthew (Katie) Clark, as well as beloved step-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Shay, Beatrice, Jacob and Aiden. He was a history buff and avid skier who loved skiing in Colorado. James was a die-hard Irishman who enjoyed his Irish heritage and visiting Ireland. He continued his swimming into his 80's, maintaining his one mile distance, three times a week until the beginning of 2019. James' last hours were spent surrounded by his loving family, listening to Irish music. He passed over just as he lived life – with a twinkle in his eye and a song in his heart. RONALD "RON" FLYOD DICLEMENTE On Wednesday, April 22, Ronald “Ron” Floyd DiClemente of Moon Township, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, suddenly went home to the Lord at the age of 82. Born to the late Ettore and Mafalda (Puglielli) DiClemente, Ron was a 1955 graduate of Coraopolis High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 through 1958. He worked 43 years at J&L Steel Corporation as a boilermaker. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis. He enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family, and making people laugh. He made friends everywhere he went. Ron is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Phyllis (Dorsek) DiClemente; two daughters, Dina (Keith) Malinoski of Moon Township and Cindy DiClemente (Peter Wassen) of Hopewell Township; three grandchildren, Mallory (Kyle) Isaack of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Malinoski (fiancée Isabel Casamassa) of Coraopolis, and Melina Mottiqua of Hopewell Township; sisters, Antonia Page, Elaine (Robert) Adler, Arlene Floriani, Anna (Thomas) Stauffer, Maria DiClemente, Lisa (Tommy) Kowalski, and Regina (Dennis) Santeufemio; and brothers, Michael DiClemente and Denny Small. BEVERLY M. WATTERS Age 85, of South Fayette Twp., passed away on April 24, 2020 in Victoria Manor, Oakdale. Beverly was born on July 10, 1934 in Dormont, PA, a daughter of the late James and Edlis (Olinger) Vause. Mrs. Watters was a member of Oakdale United Presbyterian Church and worked as a church secretary at Union Presbyterian Church for 30 years. She enjoyed camping, spending time with her family, grandchildren and beloved dogs. She was known for her love of laughter and having fun. Surviving is her loving husband, Ronald L. Watters of South Fayette; children, Pamela (Michael) Morrone of Florida, Ronald Watters of South Fayette Twp., and Beth (James) Duchess of Muse; grandchildren, Landon and Lleyton Platt, along with several nieces and nephews. KAREN SUE KISNER (LEMRO) Age 68, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Oakmont Center for Nursing on April 11, 2020, after an 18-year battle with a neurological illness. Karen, daughter of Irene V. Price Lemro and the late Joseph Lemro, was born on Christmas Day 1951 in Uniontown, PA. She derived her middle name from the late Sue Montgomery, wife of the late Dr. Mark Montgomery, who missed his wife's Christmas dinner to deliver Karen. Karen lived in Morgantown, WV, with Gary W. Kisner, whom she married on May 29, 1971, before settling in Haydentown, Fayette County, PA. Karen attained an Associate Degree from Penn State University. She enjoyed real estate and served as both a homemaker and property manager. Karen's interests and hobbies included swimming, shopping, reading historical novels, watching westerns, playing word games, cheering on her son's baseball teams, and following her daughter's legal career. Karen is survived by her mother, Irene Lemro, a resident of Beechwood Court at LaFayette Manor in Uniontown, PA; her children, daughter, Kimberly J. Kisner of Pittsburgh, PA, and her son, Wesley L. Kisner, of Haydentown and Pittsburgh, PA; his wife, Crystal L. Kisner, and their one-year-old son, Kayden Joseph Kisner. She is also survived by two aunts, Naomi Burd, of Uniontown, PA and Camilla Price, of Twinsburg, Ohio, and more than a dozen cousins from the Price and Lemro families. DOROTHY BALLA Age 94, of West Mifflin went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late James E. Balla, Sr. Dorothy is survived by her children, James E. Balla, Jr. (Ann), Steve Balla (Debbie Scatena); grandchildren, Amy McManus (Patrick), Jennifer Balla (Cody Snyder), Justin Balla (Gina), Jonathan Balla and Tina Sikora (Andrew); one great-grandson, Brantley Sikora; brothers, Nick Petrovich, Sr., and Sam Petrovich and sister, Angela "Angie"Pievach and her special friend, Pat Scatena. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Helen Petrovich, sisters, Millie Dragisich and Marie Scott; brothers, Fred, Eli, Mike and Steve Petrovich and an infant, brother Peter. Dorothy was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Hazelwood where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church. JAMES C. ROSS Age 102, of Banksville, formerly of Beechview, passed peacefully on April 24, 2020. Beloved husband of 73 years to the late Mary W. (Windstein) Ross; loving father of Gary J. Ross and Suzan M. Ross; grandfather of Jason, Derek, and Cory Ross; several nieces and nephews. Jim was a 30-year employee of Pittsburgh Railways/Port Authority of Allegheny County, was a charter member of Dormont AARP 3016, and an Elder of the Dormont Presbyterian Church until its closure in 2013. He then worshiped at Unity Presbyterian Church (formerly Wallace Memorial) where he had the distinction of being the oldest member in attendance. Jim proudly served as a Weapons Mechanic in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. As per Jim's wishes, services are private. A military service with full military honors will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Jim's family suggests memorials be made to Animal Friends, Inc., 562 Camp Horne Road Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
