ZYLWITIS LOUISE JEANNINE HUMPHREYS Of Center Township and Carefree, Arizona, passed away on January 12, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by family and friends. Born March 15, 1962, in Oklahoma City, as a child Louise lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama, where she was a Flag Majorette in the Alabama Million Dollar Band. Returning to Oklahoma City, she was employed as the Executive Secretary for Walt Gardner Associates, an insurance company. After moving to the Pittsburgh area, Louise worked as a Transportation and Exchange Representative for Equitrans, a division of Equitable Gas. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Management from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, she became a Financial Advisor Assistant for PNC Investments in Pittsburgh, where she worked until her death. Louise loved her cabin in the woods, fly fishing, traveling, and her new home in Arizona. Anyone who ever met Louise fell in love with her huge smile and gregarious laugh. Generous to a fault, she was a spiritual and religious person all of her life. Louise is survived by Joseph, her loving husband of 27 years; two sisters, Sandi McGivney and Robyn Humphreys, both of Oklahoma City, and two half-sisters, Tonya Starr of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Suzette Donaldson, of Bardstown, Kentucky. NAATZ FREDERICK M. Age 79, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on May 6, 2017. Fred was born in Pittsburgh, eldest son of the late Jack and Esther Naatz. Fred was a wonderful man who loved and deeply cherished his wife, children and their families and all of his friends. His greatest joy was hosting their frequent visits, playing cards and games and enjoying lively conversation. He was a master mixologist and champion swimmer. Everybody loved Fred. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Fred retired from Insulators Local 2, worked for the US Postal Service and served in both the US Air Force in Okinawa, Japan and as a Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve. Fred was preceded in death by siblings, Sandra Lubomski, Maxine Rizzo, David Naatz and son, Patrick McCroskey. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carol E. Rich was a letter carrier for over 40 years. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the retired men's group and served as an usher. Rich was also on the committee of Boy Scout Troup 228, did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and Interfaith Hospitality Network, and was a 50 year member of NARFE (retired federal employees) and the Dormont Masonic Lodge #684. He also belonged to American Legion Post #490. He served in World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a kind and thoughtful person devoted to his family and many friends. SCOTT RENEE H. Age 74, of Pittsburgh, and Chandler, AZ, passed away on May 8, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late William N. Ankney; daughter of the late Wilson and Ruth Scott. She is survived by a brother, Ralph and his wife, Janis, from Sonoma, CA; three stepchildren; and eight grandchildren. Renee was a physical education instructor at the University of Pittsburgh before becoming an employee of the State of PA and the Pittsburgh Public Schools as a secondary school counselor for 30 years. She enjoyed sailing and kayaking. Renee traveled to many island destinations to scuba dive and snorkel. Windjammer cruises, sailing ships, and freighters were among her favorite excursions. Renee was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing dwarf conifers. Per her request there will be no visitation. A private interment will be held at a later date. DOLLHOPF AUDREY LOUISE (SCHILPP) Age 88, died peacefully after a brief illness on May 2, 2017, in Madison, WI. Audrey was born in Pittsburgh to William J. and Edna M. (Pfeiffer) Schilpp on October 13, 1928. She and her husband, Roland, both attended West View High School in Pittsburgh and graduated with the Class of 1946. She earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 1951. Both Audrey and Roland were baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Luke's Lutheran Church of West View, PA. She taught first grade for 19 years; two years for Perrysville Elementary of the North Hills School District and 17 years for Hosack Elementary of the North Allegheny School District. She retired in 1994 and moved with her husband to Port Orange, FL. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna; and her brother, William J. Schilpp, Jr. Audrey is survived by her husband, Roland W. Dollhopf of Port Orange, FL; son, Mark (Marjo) Dollhopf of New Haven, CT; and grandchildren, Hans and Conner; son, Kevin (Anna) Dollhopf of Clemmons, NC; and grandchildren, Klaus and Emma; and daughter, Kristin Dollhopf of Madison, WI. SMITH CHARLES JACK Age 96, formerly of White Oak, died May 3, 2017 at UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville. Born October 20, 1920, Jack was the son of Wesley L. and Carrie Fisher Schroth Smith, of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene M. Jackson formerly of North Versailles; he is also survived by nieces and nephews. Jack worked as a serviceman for Peoples Natural Gas Company for thirty-three years until his retirement in 1982. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 27 years, Katherine Julia (Hornfeck) Smith; and his brother, Wesley L. Smith, Jr.; sisters, Helen Semple and Lillie Voigt. Jack was a 1939 graduate of Brentwood High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was very handy and had a love of antique clocks, restoring, and collecting many over the years. Jack had a strong interest in genealogy and researched and documented his and Katherine's family histories. He also dedicated his time for many years to the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center. His work at the Heritage Center included documenting census data and obituaries. Those who research the Heritage Center archives will enjoy the benefits of his labor. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and friends. HARVEY SUSANNE (SUENDER) Age 89, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2017, at home and surrounded by close family. Born in Reading, PA, on December 1, 1927, she grew up in Pottsville, PA, Schuylkill County. She was a lifelong music lover, and graduated from Pine Manor College in Massachusetts in 1947 as a music major. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Herman S. "Bud" Harvey, Jr., in Pottsville. Early in their marriage, the newlyweds resided in Philadelphia for a time, where she held a teaching position at Episcopal Academy. The Harveys settled in Sewickley in 1956, and celebrated more than six decades of marriage together. Mrs. Harvey was actively involved as a volunteer in many local organizations, and was hired by Sewickley Valley Hospital Community Relations Department as the volunteer coordinator in the 1970's, a position she held for approximately 10 years. Following that, she served as board president of the former Friendship House, board vice president at Union Aid Society, board member of Parish Mansions, all in Sewickley. She volunteered for many years for Meals on Wheels, and in many capacities at St. Stephens Church in Sewickley, her church home since 1956. She sang with the choir for over 30 years. In recent years, Mrs. Harvey took pleasure in volunteering with the 1st grade at Osborne Elementary School, part of Quaker Valley School System's "Generations Together" program. She had a strong creative streak matched by a loving heart, and spent many many hours over the years knitting, sewing, and creating needlework gifts for people. Painting in oils became a passion later in life , and she loved working on her painting skills and sharing her work, often of landscapes that she loved. She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Herman S. Harvey, Jr., of Sewickley; daughters, Ann (Christopher), of Alexandria, VA., Elizabeth, of Charlottesville, VA.; six grandchildren, Amanda, Benjamin, Peter (Roxanne), Luke, John, and Emily; her sister, Gail Stoner, of Sewickley; and ten nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harvey was pre-deceased by her parents, Russell L. and Elizabeth B. Suender; and brothers, Russell L. Suender, Jr., and John B. Suender. "Sue," "Sudie," "Mom," "Grammy," and "Aunt Sue," will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 10, 2017, at St. Stephens Church in Sewickley. Following the service, the family will host a reception honoring Mrs. Harvey at the Edgeworth Club. HELDERLEIN WILLIAM CLAYTON Age 84, lately of Indianola, IA, formerly of Florence, AZ, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, of natural causes. He was born May 27, 1932, in North Versailles Township, PA, son of Frank X. and Garnet (Mason) Helderlein. William was a 1950 graduate of McKeesport High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1950 to 1953 in the 82nd Airborne paratrooper division and was a photographer in his unit. Following his honorable discharge, he made California his home for the next 50 years. He was an automotive mechanic until his retirement to Florence, AZ, in 2005. His final move to Indianola with his former wife, Mary Gregori Helderlein was in late 2016. He is survived by four children, Kathyrine (Craig) Helderlein Perry, William (Marcy) Helderlein, Jr., Deborah Helderlein, and Frank B. (Gina) Helderlein; seven grandchildren, Nicole Helderlein, Lucas Olson, Taryn Helderlein, Julia (Kevin) Helderlein Millard, Joel Helderlein, Erin (Richard) Perry Ducat, and Megan Perry; six great-grandchildren; nine siblings, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
