BOERING JOHN M. AGE 71, PASSED...
BOERING JOHN M. Age 71, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Shadyside Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. John was born on October 23, 1945, to the late Martin and Lenore (Gaston) Boering. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Psychology in 1968 and then attended Gateway Technical Institute. John was a record review supervisor in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1973, when he was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He worked briefly for Mellon Bank as a programmer before realizing that his true desire was to work hands-on fixing things. It was then that John went to work for Franklin West, Inc. in 1978, where he continued to work until his death. John was a devoted employee of Franklin West, Inc. for 40 years. John's dedication to the service provided to the customers of Franklin West, Inc. was unparalleled. His legacy will carry on as everyone strives to continue his vision on always going above and beyond. He enjoyed spending time at Phipps Conservatory where he felt much comfort visiting the exhibits. However, John's true passion was to help make a better world for children. He was dedicated to his volunteer work with World Vision, where he volunteered most of his free time in the warehouse. He desperately wanted to make a difference for children, their families, and their communities worldwide to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice. His belief was that every child deserves to live life to his or her fullest potential. John also sponsored many children from third world countries, and a Christmas never passed where John didn't provide several children with clothing, food, and books. John was a very humble, unassuming person who cared deeply for the underprivileged. John was a truly great human being, cousin, friend, mentor, and colleague. He is survived by a cousin, Jane (Richard) Boering Santillo; and many friends who considered him family. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Contributions in John's memory can be made to: World Vision, 210 Overlook Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143. KLINE EDWIN ROGER AGE 86, KNOW...
KLINE EDWIN ROGER Age 86, known to his friends as Colonel, returned home to be with his heavenly father on Friday, May 12, 2017. Ed was born February 28, 1931, to Joseph and Pearl (Stuver) Kline, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the middle boy of six children. In his early years, Ed was quite the athlete. He was a member of the football and track teams. He was Pittsburgh all city track star in 1950. After graduating from Perry High School in 1950, he met his wife, Margaret Ann (Rascovsky) at a local school dance. He used to walk five miles from the street car stop just to see her. They were married on October 11, 1952. Ed became an insulator with Atlas Insulation and worked for them for over 25 years. He was a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 2. Ed liked working with his hands and he created many different items over the years, from wooden chairs and doll houses to kitchen cabinets and full house remodeling. The t-shirt saying I can fix anything with duct tape was a true mantra for him and one that his family would chuckle about often. He would fix something temporarily that would last for years and years. Ed was a city boy who always wanted to live on a farm. When he moved his family from Pittsburgh to New Martinsville the opportunity came for him to fulfill his dream. He and Margaret bought the old Billiter farm in 1972. They moved out to live on the farm in 1978 after an extensive remodel. Ed loved to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, and riding his various vehicles from trucks and tractors to 4-wheeler ATVs. He was a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan, with an avid love of Steeler's football. He was also a member of the Local Fraternal Order of the Moose. Ed is preceded to his heavenly father's home by his parents, Joseph and Pearl; parents-in-law, Adolph and Mildred Rascovsky; sisters, Joyce Adler and Crystle Reight; brother, Roland Kline; sister-in-law, Shirley Kline; and brothers-in-law, Chuck Reight, John Conley, Chuck Adler, and Albert Rascovsky. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Ann; his children, Donna Kline, of Foster City, CA and Diana Kline-Powell and David Hunt, of New Martinsville, WV; sister, Shirley Conley; brother, Chester Kline; godchildren, Daniel Kline and Christine and Brian Lazorishak; great-godchildren, Brittany Claiborne and Elena and Karina Lazorishak; stepgreat-granddaughter, Braelyn Whaley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017, and 11:00 am to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the JARVIS-WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017, with Pastor Mike Shank officiating. Burial will follow at the Kline's family farm.
