Mr. Helides was the beloved husband of 61 years of Dolores (Cavlovich); father of Steve Helides of Glenshaw, Mark Helides (Beth) of Bairdford, Mary Radacosky (Dave) of Pittsburgh, Joanne Custard (Brian) of Meadville, Paul Helides of Glenshaw, Elaine Lascher (Mark) of Allison Park; son of the late Ernest and Alexandra Evanoloude Helides; grandfather of Marissa Helides (Lucas Gosik), Matthew Radacosky, Nicholas Radacosky, Samantha Lascher; great-grandfather of Dominick; brother of Theckla Helides Snell and the late Ernest Helides; also survived by nieces and nephews. He served in WWII, earning three battle stars and returned to the states to work at the Transfer Restaurant owned by his family in Taunton, MA. He moved to Pittsburgh upon his marriage and worked at People's Natural Gas Company for over 30 years. Sava enjoyed his family, lobster, little necks and good food, movies with happy endings, the stock market, Greek food festivals (the smelts), Buicks, and especially his wife, Dolores. MAGER JOSEPHINE V. (PAGANO) Age 88, of Murrysville, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, while under the care of St. Barnabas Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife for 63 years to the late Thomas R. Mager; devoted mother of Amelia (Timothy) Brown of Ft. Wayne, IN, Thomas of Marblehead , MA, James of Nottingham Twp, Daniel of Murrysville and Maria of Pine Twp. She is grandmother to Gillian Snyder, Alaina Orrico, Austin and Meredith Brown, Matthew, Neil, Nathan, Michael and Gabrielle Mager. She is survived by eight great- grandchildren and a sister, Jean Mueller. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Amelia Pagano; her brother, Stanley Pagano; and sisters, Kathryn Caputo, Angela Horwitz and Mary Cassidy. She graduated from St. George High School in 1948. She enjoyed cooking wonderful Italian feasts for her family, playing bridge with her friends, teaching CCD to children and traveling around the world with her husband. She will be sadly missed and adoringly remembered. Rena retired as the head cashier in the dining room of Braddock General Hospital and served as  the Union Steward for her coworkers. In retirement, she returned to the hospital as a volunteer in the Gift Shop. Rena enjoyed traveling with her husband, Fred, and was devoted to all of her family. Also, she was an exceptional cook for all of them. FANTAUZZI LAWRENCE A. Lawrence "Larry" Arnold Fantauzzi, 70, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, following a brief illness. Larry will be especially remembered for his quick wit and kindness, patience and attentiveness towards others. A quiet, humble, funny, intelligent and honest man, Larry enjoyed a long and successful career in finance and lived a peaceful life surrounded by his cherished family and a wide circle of friends. Born October 2, 1947, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to Wilma and Lawrence Fantauzzi, Larry grew up in Boardman, with his "sis" Doris and brother David. A 1965 honors graduate of Boardman High School, Larry played varsity baseball for BHS, made music in the BHS marching band, and formed the dance band, the Fortunes, with three high school friends. Larry attended Carnegie Mellon University, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in industrial management and administration. While attending Carnegie Mellon, Larry was an active member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He returned to the university many times over the years to celebrate various alumni activities, including the annual "bed races." Having been born during the World Series, Larry possessed a life-long passion for baseball and a great wealth of knowledge, both statistical and historical, about many teams and players. His favorite team was the Cleveland Indians, and he was a Mahoning Valley Scrappers season ticket holder since 1999. Baseball season was his fifth season. Larry also loved music and encouraged others with their musical efforts. A talented musician, Larry taught himself on the piano, played several other instruments, including clarinet and saxophone, and composed music. His other intellectual interests ranged from math, science and history to religion, philosophy, astrology and mysticism. An accomplished businessman, Larry began his professional career with The Associates in South Bend, Indiana, followed by a position in the late 1970s with Palmer Accounting in Cortland. In 1985, Larry was hired at Cortland Bank. After several promotions, including to Chief Financial Officer in 1992, Larry became President of Cortland Bank in 2006. Larry retired in 2009, after 24 years of loyal service. A dedicated member of the Cortland Community, Larry served as Treasurer for the Cortland Lions Club's Street Fair for more than 30 years. A member of the Trumbull County Society of Psychic Research for more than 20 years, Larry had served as both its Treasurer and President. Additionally, Larry was an active member of St. Robert's Catholic Church. Larry will be forever missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Wilma Fantauzzi; his beloved wife, Claudia; and her children, Kevin Morris, Anthony (Rachel) Morris and Michael Morris; the children of his deceased previous wife, Judith, Kelly (Deanna) McClellan, Wendy (Mike) Davis, Michael (Cindy) McClellan and Jason (Lisa) McClellan; ten grandchildren, Ava Morris, Emily Morris, Aleah McClellan, Kaitlin Coleman, Briana LeMon, Chelsey Davis, Brooklyn McClellan, Levi McClellan, A.J. McClellan and Mariah McClellan; three great- grandchildren, Naiya, Trestian and Aticka. Larry also leaves his sister, Doris (Joe) Mancini; and his brother, David (Vivian) Fantauzzi; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and good friends. Larry was preceded in death by his loving previous wife Judith and his loving father Lawrence. CHAPPEL RICHARD R. Richard R. Chappel, 81, of Scott Twp, formerly of Heidelberg, PA, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Kane Regional Nursing Home. Born August 27, 1936, in Heidelberg, PA, he was son of the late LeRoy Chappel and Ethel Mack, also stepson of the late Edward Francis. Richard was the widower of Judith Fay (Ward) Chappel to whom he had been a devoted husband for 57 years. He was the loving father to Lee (JoAnn) Chappel, Paul (Susan) Chappel and Lloyd (Marsha) Chappel; cherished brother to Betty Lou Heist and the late Patrick J. (Murph) Francis and the late William Chappel. Richard had the pleasure of enjoying the gift of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He will be missed by many. He was an Atomic War Veteran, worked at Mayview and Woodville State Hospitals. He enjoyed fishing, games and music. He wowed the staff at Kane Hospital with his harmonica (if only he could still have played the guitar). A memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday, April 22, 3:00 p.m. in the Kane Chapel located in Kane Regional Hospital. Interment will be at a future date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation. HICKMAN DONALD It is with sadness in their hearts that the family of Donald Hickman announces his passing, and entrance into eternal life on Thursday, April 18, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was a devoted, caring, and dedicated family man and will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He was born in Dravosburg on December 4, 1930 to the late Adam and Myra Leadbeater Hickman. Donald will be greatly missed by his loving wife, of 67 wonderful years, Mary Lou; children, Daniel Hickman, Patty (Gerald) Tedesco, Karen (Bryan) Snodgrass; grandchildren, Gerald (Kristen) Tedesco Jr., Jonathan (Robyn) Tedesco, Jamie (William) Dugas, Kylie Snodgrass, Alyssa Snodgrass, Jacob Snodgrass; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Tristan, Marisa, Dominic and Isabella, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Donald was a lifelong resident of Dravosburg, and a graduate of McKeesport High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was retired from US Steel Research Lab in Monroeville in 1984, and owned and operated the distributorship for the McKeesport Daily News and Pittsburgh Press in Dravosburg for 40 years. Don was a devout Christian his entire life, leading many people to understand God's love for them. He was an accomplished baseball pitcher for McKeesport High School, many local sandlot teams, and Mitchell Air Force Base. In 1953, he was offered a try-out for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The family is especially grateful for the exceptional kindness, concern and care from all of his caregivers, especially Caitlin Sostaric and Alexa Paranzino, his primary caregivers. Visitation will take place Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 1 – 8 p.m. at I. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 4th Street, Dravosburg, PA 15034. A memorial service will take place on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Amity Presbyterian Church in Dravosburg at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Richland Cemetery. HARHAI ALICE JEAN (WERTZ) Alice, age 74, of Irwin, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018. She was born September 9, 1943 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Wesley and Eva (Clark) Wertz. She worked as a registered nurse and then went on to work for UPS in the sorting department in New Stanton for over 30 years before retiring. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 47 years, Harry Harhai; and her sisters, Betty Fox and Ruth Rebosky. She is survived by her children, Douglas (Beth) Harhai of Mt. Lebanon, Macrina Harhai of Cranberry Twp. and Mark (Melanie) Harhai of Irwin; grandchildren, Dan, Steve, Greg, Becca, Caitlin, Logan, Christian and Gabe; and brother, Timothy (Bonnie) Wertz of Greensburg. Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200.
